TAS Sport and Swim Centre

The TAS Sport and Swim Centre is an asset utilised not just by the students at TAS, but the wider Armidale community which appreciates having access to a magnificent fitness and wellbeing facility.

Swim Centre

At the heart of the centre is an indoor, eight-lane 25m swimming pool and refurbished change rooms and showers. With a year-round water temperature of around 28 degrees, it offers perfect conditions for swimming, recreation, and learn to swim classes.

Harwood Swim Centre Armidale, which operates out of the centre, offers private individual and group aquatic education and learn to swim classes for anyone aged from six months to 60 plus, through a range of different lesson options. Staff are qualified with Austswim Australia and Swim Australia to ensure enjoyment and safety in the water are paramount.

The centre is also a Royal Life Saving Society of Australia (RLSS) Swim and Survive Endorsed Training Centre.

The pool is not generally open to the public on a casual basis however members of the TAS community can become members of the TAS Swim Centre subject to availability as membership numbers are capped.

The Northern Inland Academy of Sport utilises the swim centre for its elite swimming program, and the centre is also the ‘home’ pool of the Armidale Alligators Swimming Club, which is run independently of TAS. The University of the Third Age conducts Aquarobics sessions for its members every weekday morning from 7.30am-8.30am. If you are interested please contact University of the Third Age. The pool may be hired for private coaching, and school carnivals.
