Junior School

An International Baccalaureate World School offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP), TAS Junior School strives to encourage all students to become responsible global citizens, resilient, independent and life-long learners. We aim to inspire all students to succeed by making informed decisions that promote their academic, spiritual, social, emotional and physical growth.

Today, we expect and demand much from our children – and from an earlier age. Balancing our expectations and the right children have to grow in their own time is paramount. Kids need to be kids, and learning from doing is the key.

This philosophy starts in our five day Pre-Kindergarten program, where we look to develop skills that go beyond making children ready for Kindergarten, but for all of their schooling and indeed life itself. Our Learn to Swim program and Gymbaroo (PE) classes promote healthy living, which is critical to learning success. From this foundation, with the support of parents, we work to engage each boy and girl by providing appropriate challenges in a caring, safe and happy environment.

Happy students learn, and they learn best from highly experienced and dedicated staff using first class facilities, including the library, dedicated music and language rooms, an indoor swimming pool, gymnasium and creative arts theatre only metres away from the classroom. From Kindergarten to upper primary, specialist teachers work with small sized classes to create an additional dimension of education for boys and girls that is out of the ordinary, exciting and challenging.

Committed to educational excellence, they seek to light the spark and ignite a passion for learning and life. Being confident to speak to others, working and playing as part of a team, developing resilience and independence in and out of the classroom, and wanting to take on new things  – these are hallmarks of the boys and girls who have attended Junior School at TAS. This philosophy continues as we develop the way we teach as a PYP World School. We welcome you all to join with us in what is an exciting and rewarding adventure.
