Pastoral Care

The school’s pastoral care system is based around recognising the different stages of adolescence and the different needs they have at each stage.

In Middle School, homeroom teachers act as an adivisor to students and are responsible for their pastoral care. From helping them develop organisational skills to leading discussions on topical issues, Middle School homeroom teachers are committed to encouraging, supporting and nurturing students through their early teenage years.
Once in Senior School (Years 9 – 12), the pastoral care model changes to an Advisor system where boys and girls are ensured a strong level of pastoral care. From Year 10 students are able to choose as their own Advisor; a staff member with whom they have a strong and positive personal rapport. With up to eight in each Advisor Group, this relationship is a critical one for each student.
